12. Soda What health problems are associated with drinking soda? Fatigue, weight gain, digestive problems, edema/swelling, ACNE, bags under the eyes, Diabetes, bladder infections. 13. Artificial Colors Food colorings are easily recognized by the use of a number. (i.e. FD&C #4) There were 80 colors and dyes used in the early 1900s. One by one they have slowly been banned because of adverse reactions. Today, there are only nine colors approved by the Food and Drug Administration. 14. Artificial Colors These are all coal tar derivatives. A report in USA Today (Jan 00) said that studies suggest that coal tar may cause leukemia, non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma, and multiple myeloma. 15. Juice Consumption Children who drink at least 12 ounces of fruit juice a day are more likely to be obese and short. 42% of those who drank at least 12 ounces of fruit juice per day were short. Of children who drank less juice, only 14% were short. 53% of the juice drinkers scored in the 75th percentile for fat content compared to only 32% of those who drank more water. 16. Changing Eating Habits Set the example!!! Ecclesiates 4:9-10 says..."Two are better than one, because they have a good return for their work; If one falls down, his friend can help him up. Almost every processed food in the supermarket from soups to chips, crackers to cookies, pastries to mixes of all kinds, including some pasta and rice mixes. frozen foods like pizza and pot pies and even some cereals. When you order or cook deep-fried foods such as donuts, French fries, chicken, fish, etc., vegetable (hydrogenated) shortenings are often used to fry them.
