Masthead- The masthead is called ‘vibe’ it has been written in white, which stands out on the black background, white is a connotation to innocence and purity, this is ironic as the image is of a rapper. On top of the ‘V’ there is the word ‘new’ with a yellow background and a black font, which stand out and lets the reader know that this is a fresh new magazine. Target audience- The target audience for this magazine are for people who are into R&B and Rap, they will be quiet a young audience ages around 16- 25, the magazine can also attract readers who like to read about fashion as there is a sell line saying ‘ fashion forward, however it has been written in a small font which means that the main attraction is music. The sell lines are about different music singers which attracts a music audience Image- The image is a mid-shot of Drake he is wearing black which is contrasting with the yellow and yellow connotes happiness, and black connotes danger . His facial expression is pouty with a slight look of arrogance letting the audience know that he is a confident person. Across his top the work ‘unstoppable’ has been placed the font is white, its big and bold contrasting to the black which is darkness and danger and the white is on contrast to the black because the word is striking as dangerous and how drake is unstoppable but it has been written in a white font which makes it look innocent. It also could be saying that the magazine is unstoppable. Colour Scheme- The colour scheme off this magazine is white and yellow with a black background.. The yellow adds brightness and happiness to the magazine and the white adds purity and innocence to the magazine. The black background adds to danger of the magazine, these are all contrasting colours. Sell lines- The sell lines have been written in black and yellow which stands out on the black ground . The yellow and white connotes brightness and purity standing out on the dangerous black background, and contrasting to the image as drake looks like a dangerous rapper, and he looks very intimidating and arrogant. One of the sell lines has an exclusive on Chris brown, at the top of the magazine different artist’s names have been put on this is attracting the R&B an Rap audience as this magazine is aimed at that type of genre. The sell lines are in white and yellow it looks bright and attention-grabbing directly grabbing the readers attention.

Masthead-The masthead ‘vibe’ has been written in pink, which is attracts the female audience pink connotes to something girlie and pretty, a bit of the mast head has been covered up by Janet Jacksons head. The masthead is quiet a light pink, which is showing that this magazine is not as daring looking as the other magazines, but it looks bubbly, light-hearted and fun. Target audience- The target audience for this magazine are for people around the ages of 16- 24, the magazine looks quiet young and it doesn’t have aspects for a reader slightly older and mature. The colours show that its for a young target audience, I think that it could attract people slightly younger. I also believe that it looks like it is mainly aimed for females, as the colour pink attract females, the blue is not dark enough to attract males because it is a baby blue colour which will also attract females. Image- The main image is Janet Jackson, she is striking a happy pose a large smile, holding her jeans, camera in her hand, these poses these poses make her look confident and bubbly this goes with the magazine as the magazine looks light-hearted. The camera in her hand makes her look like she enjoys being in front of the camera, this makes her look confident. Colour scheme - the colour scheme for this magazine is blue and pink, attracting mainly a female audience. The pink is a very hard pink to read from making the magazine difficult to read. The blue however, does stand out which will catch the readers eye. In a blue bold font the sell line Janet Jackson has been written right next to her head, so that the reader knows who the main image is. Sell line- The sell lines on the magazine are in blue and pink, the pink is a light colour making it difficult to read. All the sell lines are about music artist. The blue stand out which intrigues the reader and the pink is a bit of information underneath the sell line, this is clever as it you can see the main sell line in bold and can read more about it inside the magazine.

The black stand out on the white background, the masthead is bold and eye catching and can instantly catch the readers eye. The image of Amy blends in with mast head as her head is covering the ‘O’ Target audience- the target audience for this magazine will be young adults from the ages of 16- 25. The magazine also attracts Radiohead fans as in the top right hand corner there is an image of their band. The magazine is aimed at a young target audience because Amy winehouse is a current soul, she is a new singer and her image shows that she is a young confident women, which will attract a younger audience. The theme of the magazine is soul this attracts soul listeners. Colour scheme –The colour scheme of this magazine is black and white which represents her new album. Her image is also black in white blending in with the colour scheme making the magazine look professional and sophisticated. This also makes her look like a traditional soul singer which then appeal to the target audience as it looks appealing. The main sell lines are in black which is immediately attracting the reader as it has been written in a bold font. Across the page ‘Amy winehouse’ has been writing in a striking format instantly catching the readers eye, as its on top of her image. Sell lines- The sell lines on this magazine has been written in a black and sepia font. The black sell lines are extremely eye-catching and bold, for example the magazine has ‘ALSO!’ written in black large bold font, this attracts the readers eye, so they look towards it instantly with the information underneath written in sepia. Main image- The main image is of Amy standing in a confident position with her hand on her hips, she is doing an over posed picture, she also looks intimidating. The image that she has created for herself lets the audience know that she is a soul singer, this is because the clothes that she is wearing is an old-style polka dot dress with big her like the 60’s.

Underneath each sub-heading there is another sub-heading separating each section with a little summary about the story line. ‘Features and Fashion’ have been written in a reasonable font which is readable, the text underneath is very small. The colours used are black grey and white, they are very eye catching colours. The colours go with the image bold and dangerous as the pose being strike by Ciara is very daring and dangerous.

10. The main image is of Amy Winehouse, the picture is a mid-shot. The background of the picture looks like a red curtain and this makes the picture look dangerous and lustful. Amy has put on a pose which lets the reader know that she enjoys being in front of the camera and she looks confident . She is look directly at the reader making eye contact with the reader. She also has her tattoos on display illustrating that she is a daring person and likes to stand out of the crowd. She also has a very serious look on her face making her look stern. The quote ‘ I’m not a horrible girl’ has been enlarged, the word ‘girl’ has been made extra large making it stand out catching the readers eye. The serious look that Amy is giving the audience links in with the quote illustrating to the reader that she serious about what she is saying and does not want to harm anyone. She is trying to let the audience know that she doesn’t mean to do anything wrong. The interview will help make the reader understand what she has gone through, trying to make the audience feel sympathetic towards her, as many people are against her and what she has done in the past. The text underneath talks about what the interview about and covers about Amy’s life and how it has affected her. In the small paragraph the her full name has been highlighted with a black background with white text, standing out from the rest of the text directly making the reader look over to see what it is about. The colour relating to her song and the scheme of the magazine is very dark, it looks dangerous and lustful because of the red curtain, this could also symbolise love as red does connote love, this goes with the article as she says how she is not a horrible person meaning that she loves everyone. The black and white colour scheme could do with her album ‘back to black’. This is how she could be going back to her drug addictions. The black colour is a very negative colour linking in with the article as she is talking about her past drug addictions and the negative side of her life.

11. The main image of this double page spread is on BeyonceKnowels sister Solange Knowles , this picture is a long shot and it is places on the right page of the double page spread. The picture stands out of the page as she is wearing a bright red dress which is eye catching. The writing around her is also very light so the image looks brighter. Also the other images are black and white. The red dress connotes to danger this links in with the article as she could be a threat to Beyonce because the article says how Solange has one the years best R&B album. The other images around in black white are of her doing different poses this illustrates that she enjoys being in front of the camera and feels confident. The different poses look fun and it makes her look like she has a fun and bubbly personality. The text of the double page spread is in black, grey and blue. ‘solangeknowels’ has been written in a blue font which is standing out of the rest of the text, its standing out to show that she wants to stand out and not be compared to her sister. The rest of the text is in grey. The text is about how she has created the best R&B of the year, it has been written in grey, but the name being wirtten in blue makes it stand out to show who has made the best album of the year. The embedded quote says ‘its no fun to feel like I have to audition for everyone or be put out on display for fold to say I strategically put on feather eyelashes just to be different. I just want people to fall back and enjoy the music.’ this is saying how she wants to be different, and because she has a super-star sister she will always be compared to her, and she doesn’t want to be compared to her sister, she also feels like she shouldn’t have to prove something to be different, as she has a different style to beyonce.

12. The colour scheme used is very girlie, its pink and purple and this appeals to mainly girls. The pink stand out of the page making it easy for the reader to read. There are two main images, Cheryl Cole and Dannie Minogue , the image of Dannie is a mid-long shot, where as Cheryl's is a medium-long shot this is saying how Cheryl looks much more important that Dannie and hers looks like a close up which makes her stand out more of the page Dannie's article is about how there is a new judge on the X-factor, and she is pleased with this as she did not get a long with Sharon, she also praises Cheryl, this is showing how Cheryl is loved by many people. Her Article also talks about the winner Leon and she was his mentor, this will attract fans of Leon. Cheryl’s interview is much longer than Dannie's, illustrating she Is the more, she is smiling which makes her look warm and kind. This goes with her image as she has been names the ‘nations sweet-heart’ she can be objectified sexually, and this image does not show that. Her article is about the X-factor and her becoming a new judge, this will attract people who enjoy watching the X-factor. Cheryl talks about Simone she praises him saying how he is actually a nice person, as he could be criticised about how he can be harsh to people who do a bad performance.
