These activities resulted in the reforestation of 50 hectares under the National
Greening Program (NGP) of the government. Training of proactive Safety and
Health Inspectors resulting in minimal incidence with zero casualty and minimal
damage of equipment. Safety, health and environment were rated satisfactorily by
the Mines and Geosciences Bureau of Region 6 Western Visayas, the Department of
Labor and Employment and the Community Environment and Natural Resources
Office (CENRO) of Sipalay City, Negros Occidental. The Local Government Unit of
Sipalay City also commended the company for its contribution in the involvement of
four (4) tribal communities (Aeta and Magahat tribes) in reforestation , nursery
operations and establishment of impounding silt dams and the exemplary
contribution of the company in educating the tribal communities in protecting their
environment most especially their domain and ancestral hunting and ancestral
burial grounds as well as other surrounding communities.

Daily Duties and Responsibilities:
 For and in-behalf of the President, represents the company during meetings,
seminars, and conventions called by the Mines and Geosciences Bureau, Local
Government Units and other government Line agencies;
 Signs Ore Transport Permits (OTP) for and in behalf of the President;
 Reports daily to the President the overall operations of the mines, its status and
production;
 Receive daily production reports and collate reports to the President;
 Conduct daily mine site inspection and ensure safety standards are properly
complied by the workers according to government regulations;
 Conduct daily port site inspection to ensure environmental issues are properly
mitigated most especially dust pollution which affected surrounding communities;
 Conduct daily road inspection to ensure drivers are strictly following road signage
and speed limits.
These activities resulted in the proper establishment of protection dikes along
the main creek tributary which prevented massive siltation of rice farms in the
Banban Valley below during heavy rains. Accidents were also prevented because of
strict rules compliance of mine workers and heavy equipment operators as well as
truck drivers. Daily production targets were also achieved to meet cement factories
deadlines and barging schedules.

Community Forestry Project

Daily Duties and Responsibilities:
 Conduct daily formal and informal meetings with the recipient communities;
 Conduct daily inspection walk with project technicians within the project site;
 Conduct daily discussions with community leaders on how to develop strategies of
development within the project site;
 Supervise surveying activities of proposed development sites for planning and
budgeting ;
 Daily inspection of ongoing project implementation;
 Approve fund disbursements for off farm development projects;
 Conduct daily technical meetings for technicians daily schedule of activities and
monitoring;
 Collate daily technicians accomplishment reports;
 Discuss accomplishments and backlogs, problems and issues affecting project
implementation with community leaders.
These activities resulted in the rehabilitation of 200 hectares rain forest, plantation
of more than 10,000 rattan seedlings; 200 hectares of reforestation; 50 hectares of
Assisted Natural Regeneration (ANR), 200 hectares of Timber Stand Improvement (TSI)
and 200 hectares of Agroforestry Development. The project was commended by the
Congressman of the First District of Negros Oriental Congressman Jerome Paras. The
CFP Project in the Municipality of Guihulngan was the first recipient of CBFMA in the
country.

budget;
 Daily review of CBCR site reports, Inspection Chart Maps (ICMs) and community
perceptions of the CBCR Projects in their communities;
 Daily discussion with the M & E Teams regarding their submitted M & E Inspection
reports versus submitted planned activities and budget by the CBCR Contractors i.e.
deviation of planned activities and targets;
 Daily collation of submitted reports for finalization and for submission to the
Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) Office of the Assistant
Secretary DENR Regional Office , Banilad, Mandaue, Cebu;
 Managed and supervised M & E technicians in the conduct of Monitoring and

 Approve and disapprove vouchers of submitted project accomplishments for

 Discuss project accomplishment reports with community leaders and the leadership
of Forest Occupants Stewardship Associations (FOSAs)
 Daily visitations of various recipient communities
 Attend daily managers meeting with the Site Management Unit Manager

 Collate daily Monitoring and Evaluation reports from the various project sites.
These activities pursued in the protection and preservation of more than 7,000
hectares of natural rainforest in four (4) hinterland barangays of Ayungon, Negros Oriental.
The project was also responsible in the rehabilitation through reforestation and Natural
Regeneration of more than 5,000 hectares within the sub-site. More than 5,000 hectares of
forest cover has been improved by the implementation of Timber Stand Improvement (TSI)
and the issuance of Community Timber Utilization Permit (CTUP) aimed to utilize fallen
and culled timber during the TSI process. Fifteen (15) Forest Occupants Steward
Associations (FOSAs) were organized responsible in the protection of more than 7,000
hectares of forest in the area. 15 nursery sites were established catering to the needed forest
and fruit seedling needs of the communities. 200 hectares of Agro-forestry farms were also
established in identified forest clearings by legitimate forest occupants and more than 500
hectares of kaingin were halted and immediately rehabilitated by planting native and
indigenous tree species.
1987 - Process Documentation Specialist
Daily Duties and Responsibilities :
 Daily documentation of all meetings, seminars, conventions, and visitations related
to the overall development of the CVRP -1 (Rural) Site Management Unit
 Daily documentations of all Technical activities of the Site Management Unit :
success stories for replication and failures for reassessment
 Daily submission of Process Documents of vital importance to the Executive Director
of CVRP – 1 Rural.
These activities documented valuable activities and information vital to
the overall successful implementation of the Social Forestry Component of CVRP
-1 Rural in Central Visayas, Philippines. Erring personnel mostly those involved
in corruption were immediately reprimanded if not terminated. Problems and
issues vital to the community’s support were easily addressed and actions were
immediately well taken. Trainings were immediately replicated in other sites as
well as community activities where community involvement were acceptably
participated.
1986 - Monitoring and Evaluation Specialist

 Conduct daily monitoring and evaluation activities of projects reported 100%
completed; community’s perceptions, issues and problems of the communities in
regards to the implementation of development projects;
 Daily submission of M & E report findings to the Executive Director;
These daily activities resulted in the formulation of M & E templates being
utilized by project technicians in their daily accomplishment reporting. Daily
accomplishment reports of the project site can easily be collated which include targets
and actual accomplishments and the amount actually spent versus the budgeted
amount. These resulted further the discovery of double entry of accomplishments
significantly doubling the amount paid. Other findings also include unrealistic number
of seedlings planted in an almost 80 degree gorge/cliff reforestation project beneficiary
of almost 5 years of maintenance cost to include fertilization and replanting. The sub-
site manager was reprimanded while the project technician was terminated.
1985 - Resources Management Specialist
Daily Duties and Responsibilites:
 Daily morning meetings with technicians in the field;
 Daily conduct forest patrolling activities with forest guards;
 Daily walking the project site in the assigned barangay to discuss development
projects of uncultivated grasslands within the forest areas;
 Daily meetings with FOSA leaders to discuss development projects of the assigned
barangay;
 Conduct daily resources assessment of the assigned barangay;
 Daily collation of technical accomplishments of the projects in the assigned
barangay;
 Conduct site socio-economic survey of the assigned barangay;
 Daily Barangay Diary writing.
These activities resulted in the protection of more than 500 hectares of forest
cover in Barangay Danao, Bindoy, Negros Oriental and the rehabilitation of 50
hectares denuded grasslands through reforestation and Assisted Natural
Regeneration (ANR), 500 hectares of Timber Stand Improvement and the issuance of
20,000 cubic meters of timber affected by the TSI implementation through the
Community Timber Utilization Permit (CTUP) . The activities was also able to
organize one (1) Forest Occupant Steward Association (FOSA) involving 86
households. One community nursery was established in Barangay Danao catering
the needed seedlings of the community.

The Local Government Unit of Sipalay City also commended the company for its contribution in the involvement of four (4) tribal communities (Aeta and Magahat tribes) in reforestation , nursery operations and establishment of impounding silt dams and the exemplary contribution of the company in educating the tribal communities in protecting their environment most especially their domain and ancestral hunting and ancestral burial grounds as well as other surrounding communities. Title: Special Assistant to the President Location: Barangay Banban, Ayungon, Negros Oriental Time Period: 2005 to 2006 Daily Duties and Responsibilities:  For and in-behalf of the President, represents the company during meetings, seminars, and conventions called by the Mines and Geosciences Bureau, Local Government Units and other government Line agencies;  Signs Ore Transport Permits (OTP) for and in behalf of the President;  Reports daily to the President the overall operations of the mines, its status and production;  Receive daily production reports and collate reports to the President;  Conduct daily mine site inspection and ensure safety standards are properly complied by the workers according to government regulations;  Conduct daily port site inspection to ensure environmental issues are properly mitigated most especially dust pollution which affected surrounding communities;  Conduct daily road inspection to ensure drivers are strictly following road signage and speed limits. These activities resulted in the proper establishment of protection dikes along the main creek tributary which prevented massive siltation of rice farms in the Banban Valley below during heavy rains. These activities pursued in the protection and preservation of more than 7,000 hectares of natural rainforest in four (4) hinterland barangays of Ayungon, Negros Oriental. The project was also responsible in the rehabilitation through reforestation and Natural Regeneration of more than 5,000 hectares within the sub-site. More than 5,000 hectares of forest cover has been improved by the implementation of Timber Stand Improvement (TSI) and the issuance of Community Timber Utilization Permit (CTUP) aimed to utilize fallen and culled timber during the TSI process. Fifteen (15) Forest Occupants Steward Associations (FOSAs) were organized responsible in the protection of more than 7,000 hectares of forest in the area. 15 nursery sites were established catering to the needed forest and fruit seedling needs of the communities. 200 hectares of Agro-forestry farms were also established in identified forest clearings by legitimate forest occupants and more than 500 hectares of kaingin were halted and immediately rehabilitated by planting native and indigenous tree species. 1987 - Process Documentation Specialist Daily Duties and Responsibilities :  Daily documentation of all meetings, seminars, conventions, and visitations related to the overall development of the CVRP -1 (Rural) Site Management Unit  Daily documentations of all Technical activities of the Site Management Unit : success stories for replication and failures for reassessment  Daily submission of Process Documents of vital importance to the Executive Director of CVRP – 1 Rural. These activities documented valuable activities and information vital to the overall successful implementation of the Social Forestry Component of CVRP -1 Rural in Central Visayas, Philippines. Problems and issues vital to the community’s support were easily addressed and actions were immediately well taken. Daily accomplishment reports of the project site can easily be collated which include targets and actual accomplishments and the amount actually spent versus the budgeted amount. These resulted further the discovery of double entry of accomplishments significantly doubling the amount paid. Other findings also include unrealistic number of seedlings planted in an almost 80 degree gorge/cliff reforestation project beneficiary of almost 5 years of maintenance cost to include fertilization and replanting. The sub- site manager was reprimanded while the project technician was terminated. 1985 - Resources Management Specialist Daily Duties and Responsibilites:  Daily morning meetings with technicians in the field;  Daily conduct forest patrolling activities with forest guards;  Daily walking the project site in the assigned barangay to discuss development projects of uncultivated grasslands within the forest areas;  Daily meetings with FOSA leaders to discuss development projects of the assigned barangay;  Conduct daily resources assessment of the assigned barangay;  Daily collation of technical accomplishments of the projects in the assigned barangay;  Conduct site socio-economic survey of the assigned barangay;  Daily Barangay Diary writing. These activities resulted in the protection of more than 500 hectares of forest cover in Barangay Danao, Bindoy, Negros Oriental and the rehabilitation of 50 hectares denuded grasslands through reforestation and Assisted Natural Regeneration (ANR), 500 hectares of Timber Stand Improvement and the issuance of 20,000 cubic meters of timber affected by the TSI implementation through the Community Timber Utilization Permit (CTUP) . The activities was also able to organize one (1) Forest Occupant Steward Association (FOSA) involving 86 households. One community nursery was established in Barangay Danao catering the needed seedlings of the community.
