Public Domain (needs to be indicated if the content is in the
Public Domain)
All Creative Commons Licenses (can be selected if the
provider is the copyright holder and wants to grant certain
rights to users)
Rights Reserved - Free access (to indicate that the work
can be accessed freely on the site of the provider)
Rights Reserved - Paid access (to indicate that the work
can be accessed conditional on payment on the site of the
provider)
Rights Resreved - Restricted access (to indicate that
there are restrictions: partial availability, only for members,
etc)
Unknown (to indicate that the rights status of a work is
unknown)
9. The CC0 Public Domain Dedication 1.0
Universal has three layers:
Layer #1: a waiver of all rights in the licensed work
Layer #2: a license without restrictions
Layer #3: a promise not to exercise
Subject matter under CC0 can be used without
any restrictions in different jurisdictions, as if it
was in the Public Domain
11. Rights information about previews on Europeana:
“With the exception of the previews, all data
available on europeana.eu is available free
of restrictions under the terms of the
Creative Commons Zero Public Domain
Dedication. If you reuse metadata from
Europeana, please follow the Europeana
Data Use Guidelines. Previews can only be
used in accordance with the rights
information displayed next to them.”
