The Kachin National Organization is inviting comrades to a demonstration on February 5th, 2010 in front of the Myanmar Embassy in the UK. This date marks 49 years since the beginning of the Kachin Revolution against the military junta. After decades of compromise, the junta has shown no willingness to peacefully solve Burma's political issues. The demonstration will protest the Myitsone dam project and urge the junta to stop militarization and human rights violations against ethnic groups. All communities from Burma living in the UK are invited to join in solidarity.

Kachin
Revolution

reach

5th
of

It
reminds
us

after
such
decades
of
compromised,
Burmese
military
junta
have
shown
no
willingness
to
solve
the
political
problems
that
exist
today
in
Burma
peacefully.
Although
our
spirit
to
form
a
genuine
Federal
Union
based
on
equal
rights
and
self-determination
remain
the
same.
After
many
years
of
trial

agreement
with
regime
for
peaceful
political
settlement,
in
contrary
there
were
no
such
progresses
as
what
we,
Kachin
people
hope
for.
Instead,
increased
militarization,
cultural
genocides,
judiciary
killings,
rape
and
several
human
rights
violations
committed
by
military
junta
continue.
Seeing
their
commitments
to
continue
to
oppress
the
ethnic

on
this
Kachin
Revolution
founding
day,
we
need
to
remind
ourselves
that
to
raise
our
revolutionary
spirit
once
more
to
eliminate
and
crush
military
regime
from
ruling
power.

Burmese

office
so
called
Myanmar
Embassy
