We did it !! It’s Half Way through the 1-63 deployment!! (However Bravo Company is a little ahead of us).
How would you like to experience the same training as your soldier ? Well now is your chance! 23 September10-2pm the
rear detachment will be hosting a “Halfway There Event” at the TSC.
What ‘s TSC?
The Fort Riley Training Support Center (TSC) provides soldiers with state-of-the art Training Aids, Devices, Simulations
and Simulators (TADSS) which will enhance unit training by adding realism and/or providing instruction that is not
otherwise available. You can brag to your soldier about your accomplishments.
After the event MREs will be provided to get a taste of what your solider is eating while downrange. So come join us for
“Dragon Spouse Event”. For more information please see the attached flyer.
The Sixth annual Konza Reptile Breeders Expo will be from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sept. 1 in the Regency Ballroom of the
Four Points by Sheraton Hotel in Manhattan.
The expo offers educational programs, entertainment. and sales of reptiles and supplies. On display will be an
assortment of live geckos, lizards, snakes, frogs, turtles, tarantulas, scorpions and more.
Admission is $8 for general public, $7 for military and students with ID. and free to children ages 5 and younger.

Splash –N-Dash 2013 -7 Sept. Event Information
The sprint triathlon will include a 500M serpentine swim
at Custer Hill Pool,14.2-mile bike ride circling Fort Riley, and a 4.3-mile run at Custer Hill Golf Course. Awards
presentation will follow at Custer Hill Pool. The race is open to everyone 18 years of age and older!
$40 per individual – (T-shirt included) 75 per team of 3 – 1 swimmer, 1 biker, 1 runner (T-shirts included)
No same day registration!

7 Sept. at the Fort Riley Library, A fall festival will be from 1 to 3 p.m. located at Building 5306 on Hood Drive.
The Commanding General’s Colored Guard will give a presentation about history of the cavalry and have horses
available for the children to pet.

13 & 20 Sept Ft Riley Flag Football Team Tryouts: Looking for a team to get involved with, try out for the Fort Riley Flag
Football Team. Tryouts are being held on Sept. 13 & 20th at 6pm at SACCO Softball Complex. Tryouts are open to active
duty soldiers only and the team will be traveling to McConnell AFB in November to play. For more information call, 785-

17 September 1-2 pm Flint Hills Discovery Center Manhattan- Explore the legend of Johnny Kaw through interactions
with books and games. Preschool-age children begin discovering the wonder of the Flint Hills where they live, but look
beyond the city limits in their exploration. Children further their sense of place and belonging to this region through
interactions with the ecology and the history of the area. All sessions will run from 1 - 2 pm. There is a maximum of 10

Apple Day will fall on Saturday October 5th this year, so start planning now.
Pre-sales will be accepted this year from August 15 thru September 27th.
Pre ordering your famous Libby Custer Apple Pie has been a tradition for many years to
ensure you are able to reserve your delicious Apple Pie.
Pre orders this year are $11.00 thru September 27, tax included. By pre-ordering your pie
not only are you reserving your pie you will also not have to stand in line on Apple Day
as we will have a separate table for you to pick up your pie if you had not already done so. ...
