The unit I have chosen for CALLT Design lessons is in the ESU Intermediate Structure Curriculum and it consists of two sequential classes. The first class focuses on basic introduction of modal verbs and the second class focuses on how to use modals to make prediction. They are separate classes with interrelated contents and general objectives.
In lesson 1 use the Deductive Instructional Strategy for my class, I give the grammatical usage rules of the modal verbs and then give them examples from everyday speech of the English language. Moreover, I try to incorporate Scaffolding Instructional Method into my teaching.
