This document discusses marriage traditions in several ancient civilizations and countries. In Mesopotamia, wives were bought and sold and marriage was like slavery. In Greece, marriages were usually arranged by parents and men married around age 30 while women married at age 14. In Egypt, women had lower status than men, were expected to avoid contact with men, and had to depend on husbands after marriage. Marriage rules in Canada include a minimum age of 19 and legalization of same-sex marriage, while in ancient China marriage was more of a sexual relationship and classes usually married within their own class.

3. INTRODUCTION
Marriage is something that mostly every girl is looking forward
too. Some of these countries have different ways of
celebrating marriages like in Mesopotamia they bought and
sold their wives. In Greece they never got to chose who they
got married to and in Egypt they had to avoid men and
couldn't have no contact with them. In Canada you have to
be 19 or older and could marry the same sex as you and in
China you could never get married you could only have sexual
contact. All of these countries had different laws about
marriage and i thought some were unfair to the women cause
you couldn’t chose the man you wanted to marry.
