1. Global Warming IS Real The proof and facts that will blow your mind and make you go green today!
2. Decreased Snow Cover After As you can see in the picture, the ice of Antarctica is melting slowly but surely. If Antarctica wasn’t melting before the Industrialization period, why would it be melting now? WE ARE THE ANSWER! Before
3. Rising Sea Levels IPCC reported that since 1961, global average sea level had risen at an average rate of 1.8 mm/yr. Between 1993 and 2003, the rate increased above the previous period to 3.1 mm/yr. Shown in the graph, the change in sea level is not increasing as much as it did before because of greater water evaporation.
4. Facts from ABC News http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ma_4AmB9M30 Here is the ABC News Climate Change Report stating that global warming is an issue that is real and will effect the planet and everyone's life!
5. Affecting the US Military? The Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) released findings that show that human emissions of greenhouse gases are responsible for most of the changes since 1950. These changes could provoke things from hurricanes to drought which would cause military action costing more and more money. http://www.cnas.org/naturalsecurity/consequences/climate-change
6. Taking a Breathe On average humans exhale about 450 liters of carbon dioxide a day. There are 6.6 billion people on Earth all breathing. Just by taking a breathe humans emit about 2.168 x 10^9 tones of co2 annually! (that’s 43,360,000,000 pounds every year of breathe!) http://micpohling.wordpress.com/2007/03/27/math-how-much-co2-is-emitted-by-human-on-earth-annually/
7. FIRE!! The US fire season has increased 78 days over the past 20 years. This is tied closely to the increase in temperatures and earlier snowmelt. http://www.edf.org/article.cfm
8. How Bad is the US? Compared to the 1.1 billion people living in India the US has about 300 million people. Americans emit more then 20% more per person then the population of India. 20% increase in America's co2 emitions since 1990.
9. Conclusion Global warming is real and can be proved by facts like decreased snow cover, rising sea levels, and increased temperature. Hope you enjoyed our PowerPoint! THE END
