Who Else Needs Proof That Kids Can Cook?
Kids Can Cook
And not only can kids cook from an early age, they can enjoy it, AND they can be quite good at it.
Kids Can Cook... Even If They Don’t Know it Yet
When my older son, Steven Wayne, was around 12 he tasted my soup, said it needed more garlic and went to grabbing spices, shaking, stirring, and testing. We both were hooked and he was the official soup maker from that day on.
Kids Can Cook When They Are Interested in Learning
My daughter, Nyk's, first meal at 9 years old was Ramen noodles which she had ready when I got home from work.
Within 4 years she was fixing complete meals like meatloaf, mashed potatoes, and brussel sprouts.
Was it work to teach her? Sure! Did it take time? Absolutely! Was it worth it? Uh, YEAH!
Kids Can Cook When Put on the Spot
One night I called my 3rd child, Jos who was about 12, and told him he needed to get dinner started. I walked him through step-by-step what to do. His first time EVER and he did AWESOME.
I later found my directions written word-for-word right down to the most minute details.
Kids Can Cook When It's One of Their Responsibilities
My 4th child, Harm, is the only one I've had to push to start cooking. My philosophy is that I'm teaching her to be an adult and part of that is being able to cook.
I'm still working on her.
She has in the last week expressed more of an interest though. As a matter of fact, a couple of days ago she made a beautiful omelet.
My job as a Home Time Management Coach is to help you save time on the things you HAVE to do… such as cooking, cleaning, laundry, and housework so that you can reinvest that time into your marriage, your kids, your family and friends, and even yourself.
