2. COVER DESIGN
I choose to feature the mocking jay on my
cover because I feel that it symbolizes rebellion and
equality throughout the 12 districts. Rebellion
because the mocking jay inspires people to not
follow the rules and instead, to do what is right. This
is as Katniss Everdeen did in her first Hunger
Games. Equality because the poorest of the poor
and the richest of the rich all can rebel. I also feel
that the mocking jay gave Katniss the strength to
win her first Hunger Games. I chose fire because it
is the name of the book, as if rebellion is catching
fire.
3. This picture symbolizes Katniss coming home from the
Hunger Games to a snowy District 12. Soon after her arrival,
she must go on a victory tour with her fellow District 12 winner
and friend, Peeta. This sparks rebellion. By the rules, there is
only one winner; but because of Katniss’ actions, there are 2.
4. This ring symbolizes Katniss’ efforts to stop the rebellion by
showing that her actions were out of pure love. She gets
engaged to Peeta, but this doesn’t work. The President
decides to kill them by sending them back to the Hunger
Games with other past victors.
5. After a blood bath on the first day, Katniss and Peeta, realize they
need to make alliances. This seems to work because they make it
to the final 8. Their survival is unlikely because this year there will
definitely be only one winner. They start to devise a plan.
6. The plan to escape the Hunger Games arena is complete and
happening, but Katniss doesn’t know about it. She is getting carried
away by a hovercraft that takes the dead away, and she is panicking.
This hovercraft is part of the plan. It is rescuing her along with the
others, well at least most of them.
7. After Katniss is treated for her wounds in the hovercraft, she
meets up with her mentor Haymitch. He informs her of the
plan of defying the president and rescuing all the victors. She
gets very amgry because no one told her, and she can’t find
Peeta. Then she finds her best friend, Gale. He tells her that
her family is safe, but her home, District 12, has been
bombed.
