6. Kenneth K. Law was born in Manhattan, NY, received schooling in Deer Park (Long Island) at St. Cyrils and St. Methodius Catholic School where he served as an Altar Boy and aspired to be a Priest up until he found out Priests could not be married. He and his family later settled in Savannah, GA where he continued his years of being reared. He is a high school graduate of Sol C. Johnson High School Savannah, Georgia. He received his formal education from Jackson State University majoring in Mass Communications & Marketing. His professional career consisted of Retail Management, being the Director of the Teen Center for the Boys & Girls Club as well as an Entrepreneur. Kenneth K. Law has over 18+ years working with youth and families. His career began working with elementary school level youth as a Para Professional in Savannah; where he worked with children with special needs. In addition, he served as a Sunday School Teacher at Mt. Hermon Baptist Church also located in Savannah. Armed with a passion to continue working with kids he reached out and became a Mentor for the Big Brothers / Big Sisters organization. In 1995, Kenneth K. Law relocated to Atlanta, GA and soon became a part of New Birth Missionary Baptist Church under the teaching of Bishop Eddie L. Long. Soon he began participating in the various ministries that the church offered. He attached himself to the Rites of Passage Program as a Fitness Instructor. He became known by many for his compassion, patience and personal quest for children to walk in their ordained destiny. His love for children was very evident to all those that he met. He was very active as a Mentor to many children with the DeKalb County School System and worked to mentor kids at Marbut Theme School and the DeKalb Medical Health Adventures Program for at-risk youth. He later became a Certified Fitness Trainer with a unique love for those kids that were labeled overweight and a misfit to society. Under the tutelage of the ministry at New Birth, he heard Bishop Long preach a sermon on Destiny and Purpose (Jeremiah 1:5). This message resonated in his heart and his mind. With that said he launched out and started a fitness program for overweight kids who needed help in the areas of weight management, self-esteem and simply understanding who they were in Christ. It began as a Summer Camp Program that was geared towards fitness. Starting with only 6 kids and the faith of a mustard seed, he began to work faithfully with those 6 kids for the entire summer from sun up to sun down. Transformations were made in their weight, in their self-esteem and their confidence began to blossom! Because of his faithfulness with the 6 kids, the next summer camp program had well over 80 kids and later drew as many as 250 kids. Kenneth K. Law (Pastor) has successfully created a ministry entitled TEAM Kingdom Ministries that he and his wife (LaWanda) founded in 2004. They travel throughout the Southeast teaching and ministering The Gospel to youth and families. To date, Kenneth has personally touched and left a positive impact on the lives of well over three thousand youth. In August of 2005, Bishop Eddie L. Long licensed him as a Minister at New Birth Missionary Baptist Church in Lithonia, GA. Continuing to touch the lives of many and heeding the voice of God, Kenneth accepted the call and has been ordained by Bishop Eddie L. Long as Senior Pastor of New Birth Savannah. Pastor Law and his wife, Elder LaWanda R. Law, celebrate 9 years of marriage. Although they do not have biological children as of yet, they proudly claim the three thousand children that God has allowed them to be surrogate parents to as their own. They are clearly establishing a living legacy of hope and a special anointing to turn the hearts of many towards the heart and the voice of The Lord in their everyday lives. With the leading of The Holy Spirit, they both walk in a posture of servant hood and with an understanding of “to whom much is given, much is required.” PASTOR KENNETH LAW
