Senior Spotlights Fall 2009
Bridget Manasco Aka “Bridge” Favorite Childhood Memory: “Bridget asked for and received a real cash register for Christmas one year. She loved to play office or Medical Clinic or grocery store. She used to pretend to scan items before ringing them up on the cash register and she would make a “don-dont” sound. She would call a scanner a “don-donter.” We would have to watch her in stores because if a cash register were left vacant, she would run over and push buttons.” Funny Words & Phrases: Bridget called her pacifier “ssssss” and her cat was “Ginny Paw-Paws”
Embarrassing Story: “The first time Bridget baked a cake all by herself, she put in diet coke when it asked for soda. When she brought it in to serve it, there was a pool a liquid in the center – it looked awful, but tasted pretty good.” Old Habits Die Hard? Fun Facts: “She loved the Spice Girls, “Saved by the Bell”, “Power Rangers” and “SpongeBob.” She also idolized Tiki Barber (A UVA football player who later played for the Giants) and her favorite food was any food! Item she couldn’t live without: “When Bridget was very young, she frequently had a pacifier in her mouth, but when she went to bed, she had to have at least 5 pacifiers, one in her mouth, an the other 4 on the pillow next to her”

Kelly Carter Aka “Smee” Mispronounced Words:    "blouer" for bladder    "coldslower" for cole slaw Funny Story: “When she was about 8 years old we had a stray dog show up at our house. She begged to keep the dog. We finally relented and said she could keep the dog.  His name is Patches. The first night he was with us Patches slept with her in her bed and was so happy to be with her that he didn't bother to get out of bed to let us know he needed to go outside (if you know what I mean)”
Favorite Childhood Memory:“When she was 5 she was an Entrepreneur.  She bottled creek water and put grass in it. She stood on the side of our road and set up a booth to sell her product. Oh she also sold creek rocks. The funny part is she actually made money.  People were actually stopping by and purchased her product.  She made several dollars before I realized what she was doing and stopped her” Something She Couldn’t Live Without: “She had a blanket named "Nettie" It went everywhere with her.” Fun Facts: ,[object Object]
"Barney" was her favorite show.  She didn't want anyone knowing that she watched the show so she sat very close to the TV with the volume turned down and would change the channel when anyone came into the room.
