3. Program Description
We can accommodate your schedule and help you reach your time
line goals of graduation and employment.
You will learn to repair refrigeration and air conditioning equipment,
both residential and commercial.
You can bring in personal repair items to receive your lab credits or
we provide trainers for your learning experience.
You will receive your EPA certification prior to/upon graduation. (ref

You must work a minimum of four years as an air-conditioning
technician before eligibility to test and receive a license at the state
level.
4. Employment
In today's economic times, people struggle to pay bills and
make ends met….however, people will find ways to pay for
air conditioning/heater repair due to the necessity of the
service.
Employment opportunities are at a local heating and air
conditioning companies, medical centers, local city and
county government, grocery stores, restaurant chains such
as Waffle House or self employed.
5. Admission Requirements
Based on the following….
Placement exam scores
A high school or GED® diploma
are required to receive a
diploma in the Air Conditioning
Technology program.
6. Additional Program Requirements
You must pass your required core classes in order to receive
a diploma.
EPA certification exam fee of $35 (students must pass the
exam with a 70% or better to receive certification)
You are only required to purchase one textbook for the Air
Conditioning Technology class. Textbooks for the core classes
are also required when you register for each class.
All lab hours (hands on repairs) are performed under
instructor supervision and on MTC property.
7. Timeline
This course is two regular semesters, fall and spring, plus
the short summer semester to graduate.
Note: We can accommodate your schedule and help you
