Rare Earth bearing Carbonatite Dykes

The carbonatite dykes consist of finely to coarse crystalline dolomite with minor amounts
of goethite and intergrowth of Bastnasite bearing Burbankite crystals.

Hexagonal burbankite hosts abundant bastnasite and related rare earth minerals, plus
                        barite strontianite, quartz and dolomite.

                                                                                       8

Mintek – Montero Metallurgical Research

Mintek commissioned to develop a rare earth element (REE)
extractive process flow sheet

Joint team to design a process flow sheet to maximise recoveries
of REO’s and determine process economics to yield:

 High purity mixed rate earth oxide (MREO) concentrates; and

 Individual pure rare earth oxides (REOs).

Mintek has worked for over 25 years on REE metallurgy, has
patented treatment processes for REE production and
successfully run pilot plant scale operations.
