Several Crow Tribal members were honored during Native Days for their military service in World War II and the Korean War.

The Crow Tribe honored WWII and Korean War veterans during
Native Days. During the ceremony Chairman Darrin Old Coyote
spoke directly to the veterans in the crowd when he thanked them.
“It’s because of you that I am standing here enjoying the freedom
we all have,” he said. “Thank you to all veterans.”

Darrin Old Coyote (right) thanked the Veterans in attendance and commended
American Indians for their unfailing service to the United States.

3. Even at 99 years old, there was no stopping Crow
Elder Joseph Medicine Crow, who stood and danced
during the Crow Flag Song. He was recognized as the
oldest living tribal member and was one of the many
awardees at the Veteran’s Honoring Ceremony for
World War II and Korean War vets during Native
Days.
