What is distance education or
distance learning?
Defined as a formal educational process in which the
majority of synchronous and asynchronous instruction
occurs when student and instructor are not in the same
place. Distance education includes, but is not limited to,
correspondence study or audio, video and/or
computer/internet technology.

Distance education, or distance learning, is
a field of education that focuses on the
pedagogy, technology, and instructional
system designs that aim to deliver
education to students who are not
physically "on site.
