6. Keady Court! Gene Keady Gene Keady became Purdue’s all-time-winning coach in 1997. in this same year, honoring of Keadys remarkable victories holding more then 500, Purdue named their new court Keady court. The court still holds the name today and host some of the greatest teams in the nation.
7. Keady Court: Hosting some of the greatest teams in the nation Keady court has a great tradition of hosting some of the finest teams in that nation Including our conference. The Big Ten conference in known to be one of the hardest Basketball conferences in the nation. Not only does Purdue host many conference games, but also drags the attention to other conference teams like Tennessee and last years NCAA champs Duke whom developed NBA stars.
8. Keady Court: Developing Stars! Carl Landry was a former Boilermaker, under current head coach, Matt Painter. Landry became the only Big Ten player to hold three consecutive Big Ten Player of the Week Honors. Carl was drafted in the NBA by Seattle SuperSonics in the 07-08 draft and is currently playing for the Sacramento Kings. Brian Cardinal entered the 2000 draft and picked by the Detroit Pistons. Before his NBA career, Cardinal was a former Boilermaker holding the school record of 125 career starts. Cardinal is currently playing for the Minnesota Timberwolves.
9. Court’s in Good Hands! Matt Painter Current head coach Matt Painter takes over the court for the 2005-2006 basketball season. Painter, with a rough start, finishing the season with a 9-19 record, has been developing one of the finest teams in the nation. Painter coached last years 2009 team to be Big Ten Tournament champs. The team was lead by E,Twaun Moore, Robbie Hummel, JaJuan Johnson, and Chris Kramer whom all were considered to be called the fantastic four. The Purdue Boilermakers were nation ranked as high as fourth last season leading them to the Sweet Sixteen. Although the Boilermakers are loosing Chris Kramer next season, they are still considered to be the nations number one team in the 2010-2011 preseason rankings.
10. Keady Court… Taking Over Traditions! Purdue University is traditional identified as an engineering school but over the years has become a basketball university. Mackey Arena gives off a competitive feeling when entering the doom and will always and forever give off that smell of defeat. The Arena will never stop carrying out traditions and will become bigger than ever after the 82 million dollar complex added to Mackey.
