11. My MapQuest – so what benefit do I get from entering my vehicles? On the Directions page, enter your “To” and “From” locations and your driving directions results will display a button called “Fuel Cost”. Click on “Fuel Cost” and you will be shown the estimated fuel cost for your trip based on your default vehicle in My MapQuest …pretty cool! We can calculate the cost of your trip based on the mpg of your vehicle, your route length and the average gas prices in your area.
12. My MapQuest – so why would I save maps, directions and Searches? If you like to plan ahead for trips, now you can save, retrieve, and modify your efforts. Also with the Draggable Routes feature you can create a trip with your own custom driving directions. Then, save it in My MapQuest and retrieve it when you’re ready to travel… now that is REALLY useful and only possible with My MapQuest! Remember, you can send your maps, routes and business searches to friends, family, colleagues via cell phone or email.
