It is a sport where an individual is
pulled behind a boat or a cable ski
installation on a body of water,
swimming the surface.

Water skiing began in 1922 when
Ralph Samuelson used two boards
as skis and a clothes line tow rope
on Lake Pepin in Lake City,
Minnesota.
He was discovering different types
of skiing.
In 1972 water skiing was included in
the Olympics
4. Technique
water skiing usually begins with the skier
crouching down in the water. When the
skier is ready, the driver accelerates the
boat and pulls the skier out the water.
There is an observer in the boat to inform
the driver if the skier falls.
Speed slow 22km/h, up to 58km/h, slalom
74km/h, to barefoot 190km/h.

It is a type of water skiing where skiers try to
perfom tricks similar to those of gymnasts while
being pulled along by boat.
Slalom skiing
Uses only one ski with two binders for the feet.

6. Trick skiing
Is based on using a smaller, oval-
shaped water ski that is a smooth
on the bottom in order for it to be
able to turn over the surface of the
water.

Colombian man, Rodrigo Miranda
