      that negatively affects the child’s health or wellbeing.

• Research suggests that Caucasian children are
  at a reduced risk for obesity compared to
  African American /Hispanics.
• This has a lot to do with socioeconomic
  standing
• Culture to culture
different foods are
 considered “healthy”
Social / psychological
• Low self esteem
• Higher chances of depression
• Social outcasts
How can we fix this epidemic?
•   Family; Eat a more balanced meals and snacks.
•   Engage in more physical activity
•   Be patient
•   Set good example for children (parents)
Education

• Most of child’s day is spent in school; so
  schools have a huge role too
• Healthy foods to snack on
• Encourage students in physical activities
  throughout the day; other than gym
