5. step 1: learn to hear your fixed mindset “voice” When you approach a challenge: The Fixed Mindset Voice says: “ Are you sure you can do it?” “ Maybe you don’t have the talent.” “ What if you fail? Then you will be considered a failure!” Challenges you may face this year:
6. step 1: learn to hear your fixed mindset voice When you hit a setback: The Fixed Mindset Voice says: “ This would have been easy if you really had talent.” “ You see, I told you it was a risk. Now you have gone and shown how limited you are” “ It’s not too late to back out, make excuses, and try to regain your dignity” Setbacks you may face this year:
7. step 1: learn to hear your fixed mindset “voice” When you face criticism: amp The Fixed Mindset Voice says: “ It wasn’t my fault, it was someone or something else’s fault” “ Who does that person think they are for giving me advice? I’m not listening to them” “ I guess the person who gave me feedback is disappointed in me. They don’t think I can do it either” Criticism you may face this year:
8. step 2: recognize that you have a choice How you interpret challenges, setbacks and criticism is YOUR CHOICE Fixed Mindset Growth Mindset “ Oh well, I don’t have the talent or ability anyway.” “ Even though I didn’t do as well as I wanted to this time, at least I know that I can find out what I need to do in order to do better next time! If I work hard enough, I know I can do it .” IT IS UP TO YOU
