Hi-Tec Dad


My Father is a Hi-Tec man, Father drives me to the kindergarten,
His hands on keyboard from dawn to dawn. We get there late most every morning,
I do help him with word and hand, But on meeting days he parts at seven,
Until he pleads: my dear, be gone. So I wait for Teacher while I`m playing.

Father comes home quite late,
I`m already in my bed,
So Dad decided here and now
He`ll get a new job, that`s his vow

Naturally he needs advice,
So I give him `cause I am wise
Yes, you`re right, I`m just a child,
But I`m always on his side

“You can work in a garden,quot;
I told my father with a smile.
quot;Not with flowers but in kids-garden.quot;
Father liked the thought and laughed a mile.

I shall play with kids,” Dad said:
“And teach them lots of nice stuff,
His talking-so worried me a bit,
His time for me won`t be quite enough.

My second idea: Dad will be a writer!
Ok, said Dad, And I can be a poet too.
Yes, he`ll be respected and famous after,
He`ll work at home and we`ll play just us two.

Dad said writers sure earn a lot,
And I know it`s not completely true,
I surely don`t need to be told what,
So when friends come over I`ll tell Dad: Shoo!

I then suggested: be a policeman, Dad!
You`ll help everybody in this job!
You shall be a hero, catch the bad,
Chase the thieves, handcuff the mob.

Father didn't like this last idea,
He wouldn't dare to work in danger.
I also thought he`d better not be in my area
When I`m a naughty girl in my leisure

New idea was born in Dad`s head:
He`ll be a farmer, that`s so good!
To work the land, to clean the shed,
He`ll love the horse, the sheep and goose.

But I told him clear and loud:
Mom won`t like it, not at all,
She loves the city, scares of goat,
Animals smell, you know, big and small.

I had a lot more to suggest, We tried so hard to find solution,
Dad can be a tour-guide and a painter, Until I saw that Dad got sad.
He can be a chef, search the Everest, I kissed his head with great emotion,
Drive a truck, guard the mall I solved the problem, helped my Dad.
and come home later.

Instead of looking for a new job, I think,
Dad should stay where he likes to stay,
Work hard and good, but Dad don`t sink,
I wait at home, remember, don`t drift away.

Father said I`m very clever,
Tomorrow morning he begins anew,
He`ll be a Hi-Tec loving Dad as ever,
Father to the brightest girl he knew.
