The 7 Habits of Highly Effective Teens
Habit 1:  Be Proactive

Choice  a is REACTIVE, acting in a negative way.
Choice  b is PROACTIVE, acting in a positive way.
Habit 2:  Begin with the  End in Mind
[object Object],[object Object],[object Object],He knows math is important.
[object Object],[object Object],[object Object]
Choice a says Mark understands his responsibilities and has a goal in mind.
Choice b says Mark isn’t thinking about the future.
Habit 3:  Put First  Things First
Kevin is always late for school.  His teacher is upset with him. This is Kevin.  He stays up late and has a hard time getting up.

Choice a is putting LAST things first.
Choice  b is  putting FIRST things first.
Habit 4:  Think Win-Win
But his friend wants to go to the movies. This is Brad.  He wants to go to the park with his friend.

Choice a is a win-lose.  Brad wins.  Friend loses.
Choice  b is a lose-win. Brad loses.

Habit 5:  Seek first to understand then be understood
They each feel strong about their opinions. This is Nancy.  She is arguing with her sister about their opinions.

Choice a understand others and they’ll understand you too.
Choice  b no one can tell where the other person is coming from.
Habit 6:  Synergize
But everyone wants to do something different. This is Natalie.  Her group is planning for a science project.

Choice a says you don’t want to compromise or try new things.
Choice  b says you want to hear everyone’s ideas to create something new.
Habit 7:  Sharpen the Saw
This is Jenna.  She’s tired from all her work and extra outside activities.  She has a book report due on Monday and she just wants it done.

Choice a you’re dulling the saw.
Choice  b your saw will be good as new.
