 A. EL TIEMPO PRESENTE: AM /æm/ , IS /iz/, ARE /a:r/
 1. El verbo TO BE tiene tres formas en el tiempo presente: AM - IS - ARE
 I am /ai æm/ (Yo soy/estoy)
 You are /iú á:r/ (Tú eres/estás)
 He is /hi: íz/ (El es/está)
 She is /shi: íz/ (Ella es/está)
 It is /it íz/ (Es/está)
 We are /wi: á:r/ (Nosotros/as somos o estamos)
 You are /iú á:r/ (Uds. son/están)
 They are /δéi á:r/ (Ellos/as son/están)
 En conversación, normalmente se usan las contracciones I’m. You´re, He´s,
She´s, It´s, We´re, They´re.

3. EXAMPLE
 What is this? ¿Qué es esto? It is a pen. /its a pén/ Es un lápiz
 What´s that? ¿Qué es eso? It´s an ambulance. Es una ambulancia
 What are these? ¿Qué son éstos? They are books. Son libros
 What are those? ¿Qué son esos? They´re cars. Son autos
 Is this a pen? Yes, it is. It´s a pen Is that a house? Yes, It is. It´s a house. Are these books?
Yes, they are. They´re books. Are those cars? Yes, they are.They´re cars.

 Who is that man? He´s Mr. Jones, the new instructor. r/
 Who´s that woman? She´s Miss Black, the secretary.
 Who are those men? They´re Bob, Jim and Tom, the students.

4. Existe una excepción en la tercera persona, se añade una -s al final del verbo. Cuando el
verbo termina en -s, -ss, -sh, -o, -ch, -x se añade la terminación "-es".
