 “If you are on the Marienplatz at 11 a.m., 12 p.m. or 5 p.m. watch the
Glockenspiel play. It takes about 10 minutes. The figures move, but the
music continues after the figures stop. Although some of the music is a
bit clinky, and off key, it is still pretty cool.”
 “The Virtualienmarkt is a great place to wander around, I can't
recommend it highly enough. There are plenty of stands that offer
incredible German sausages, fruit, vegetables, tea, beer garden.”

3. New Town Hall (Neus Rathaus)

 “Beautiful biulding, worths the visit. Climbing to the top
gives you a magnificent view of the city and a good
geographic understanding of the whole area. Must be a
first place to go so that you can have a general idea of
Munich before walking around.”

4. Karls Gate (Karlstor)
 “What a welcoming site as you enter to the Mareinplatz.
From a historical aspect this sight is amazing. I loved the
statues as you were passing through the gate. When we
were there flowers had been added to the statues.”

6. Bayerische Staatsoper Opera House

 “We went on the guided tour of the opera house - 7 euros per person. For anyone interested in
opera/ teatre or great architecture, this was fascinating. The House is magnificent and apart
from the auditorium, the tour took you to places you would not otherwise have access to. This
included the royal box and private lnterval lounge, backstage, under the stage, dressing rooms,
orchestra pit, scenery storage areas etc. Most people will not realise that the large magnificent
auditorium is actually not as a big aas the stage/ backstage areas! Much of the tour is visual in
impact, which is important for non German speakers as the tour guide was excellent in relating
background information but in German only (not a problem for me as I speak German).
Photography is allowed except in the backstage areas. Had to pinch myself when I realised
that I was actually on stage at the Bayrischer Staatsoper!”

7. BMW Museum

 Hundreds of thousands of people visit BMW's four-cilinder BMW
tower and the bowl-shaped museum next to it each year.
 “You can go and sit in majority of the cars and there are places
where you could go and see the specs of the car.”

 “Tours to let you see how the cars are made, and of the Welt
itself. The last time we went, they had a special tour you could
do that you rode in 3 different antique BMW's around the city,
then saw where the cars that are being delivered are checked
the last time before they are given to their new owner and ride
up the elevator where the cars magically appear”

9. Olympiapark

 home of the 1972 Olympics. Tours include a roof climb, with
ropes & carbiners and bungee jumping into the stadium.
 “We took a zipline across the Olympic Stadium and it was a
great experience. It was fun to see the city from the top of the
roof and it was a fun activity to do while visiting the park. The
prices were reasonable and we received a discount for having
our student card with us.”

10. Allianz Arena

 “It's a fantastic stadium with easy access and good food and
beverage outlets on match days! There is a very large
merchandise store there and the tour which takes you around
the stadium (however; not on match days) costs 10 euros.
Whether you're a football fan or not, this is a must for any
admirer of architecture.”

11. FC Bayern Zentrum

 “FC Bayern Zentrum is the headquarter of the sports club FC Bayern München. The 80,000
square meter / 861,112 square feet area is not only the administrative center of the club, as it is
the training ground for the clubs soccer team. The area also includes a club shop, ticket and
service desks, snackbar - called "Paulaner Treff" - with attached beer garden . It is an interesting
place for soccer fans, as it is open to the public, the admission is free and it is easily accessible
by public transportation (just a short 900 meter walk away from the underground station
"Wettersteinplatz"). The soccer training sessions are also open to the public - unless the day
before matchdays - which enables fans to watch their favourite players up close, get
autographs, photos with the players and sometimes even to chat with them after the training.

slow cruise along the halls and corridors of this place. The
section regarding the jewels is not to be missed. Luckily

own glory on your SD card.”

then this is an interesting place to visit. You can find it in
Courtroom 253 and it is free. This is where the actual trial
took place. There is information there about but an
understanding of German is necessary.”

shrapnel) and documents (Nazi papers) that really helped us
understand what we were seeing. I do not remember all of the artifacts
but he had some stuff that was unbelievable. “
