What does Florence teach  us about the title,  Seedfolks? Florence Florence is the descendent of freed slaves who traveled from Louisiana to Colorado and were known as the first black family in the county. She eventually left Colorado and moved to Cleveland, Ohio.   She describes herself as a “watcher”.
