This document provides instructions for finding and accessing journals through the TexShare database using EBSCO. It explains how to log into TexShare using your library credentials. It then describes how EBSCO indexes many journals, magazines, and full text books. The document walks through finding the journal Consumer Reports using EBSCO MasterFile Premier as an example. 2. Log into TexShare
Go to: www.libraryoftexas.org/texshare
Login to TexShare with your user name
and password.
Get your ID
& Password from
your local library!
3. TexShare
TexShare contains many useful databases.
EBSCO indexes journals, encyclopedias
and many full text books, so you can
access and read these online, at home.
I’ll use finding Consumer Reports as an
example.
4. Choose EBSCO MasterFile
Consumer Reports is one of many
periodicals and journals indexed by
EBSCO MasterFile Premier.
Click on EBSCO MasterFile Premier.
7. Search Publications
Publications are listed in A-Z order.
Type “Consumer Reports” in the search
box.
Then,
hit “Enter”
or click the
“Browse”
Button.
9. Consumer Reports on EBSCO
This page lists the magazine by year.
You can
also search
within the
magazine.
10. Browse Consumer Reports
Browse by year by clicking on the year
you want to explore. The links will
expand.
Clicking on a
volume will
open that
month’s
full issue.

allow you to
browse each
article.
Each article
as its own
link.
Choose the
PDF Full
Text to read.

Click on the
link that reads
“Search within
this
publication”

in quotes and
prefaced with
JN.

Place your cursor in the search box next
to “Consumer Reports.”
Type “AND” and then type the name or
kind of product you are interested in.
