2. Importance of electrical
equipments in hospitals
Electrical equipments used in medical field brought about
a revolutionary change in this field. It helps us to
maintain and record the data of the patient with high
accuracy. Technical advancements helped us to improve
to our best and give the best health care possible.
5. Ultrasound equipment
Diagnostic ultrasound systems provide a painless method of
examining the internal body without the use of radiation. This
equipment is a safe means by which to measure the size, density,
and structure of internal masses in the body and is also an
important tool for identifying internal abnormalities or to monitor the
growth of a foetus.
WORKING PRINCIPLE - Medical ultrasound is based on the use
of high frequency sound to aid in the diagnosis and treatment of
patients. Ultrasound frequencies range from 2 to approximately
15 MHz, although even higher frequencies may be used in some
situations.

7. Defibrillators
Defibrillators are commonly used to treat life-threatening
conditions such as cardiac arrhythmias, ventricular
fibrillation, and tachycardia. By delivering a therapeutic
dose of electrical energy, the defibrillator terminates the
arrhythmia and restores a normal rhythm to the heart.
WORKING PRINCIPLE - A defibrillator is a machine that
can be used by paramedics to stabilise an irregular
heartbeat. They work by discharging electric charge.
The defibrillator passes charge through the patient to
make the heart contract.

9. EKG machines
Electrocardiogram (EKG) machines record the electrical activity of
the heart over a period of time. EKG mchines allow health care
providers to monitor the overall rhythm of the heart and identify
any abnormalities. These EKG machines are an important part of
a hospital’s arsenal, allowing providers to diagnose normal and
abnormal rhythms of the heart while patients are under their care.
WORKING PRINCIPLE - In a conventional 12-lead ECG, 10 electrodes
are placed on the patient's limbs and on the surface of the chest. The
overall magnitude of the heart's electrical potential is then measured
from 12 different angles ("leads") and is recorded over a period of time
(usually 10 seconds). In this way, the overall magnitude and direction of
the heart's electrical depolarization is captured at each moment
throughout the cardiac cycle. The graph of voltage versus time produced
by this noninvasive medical procedure is referred to as
an electrocardiogram

11. Anesthesia trolley
Anesthesia machines are
designed to provide an accurate
and continuous supply of
medical gases delivered to the
patient at a safe pressure and
flow to maintain a proper level of
anesthesia. These modern
machines include a ventilator,
suction unit, and patient-
monitoring devices for
maintaining adequate
anesthesia levels.
12. Surgical lights
Surgical lights are
imperative for proper
illumination during surgical
procedures. This equipment
is a mandatory part of any
surgical setting to help
surgeons work under
adequate lighting
conditions. Surgical lights
can also often be found in
good working order as
refurbished equipment.

14. Conclusion
Electrical equipments have brought a great change in
this field. If we see in day to days life the electrical
devices are broadly used in any of the hospital and
helps us to understand and diagnose the problem. The
chances of failure and losses have significantly
decremented in past few decades due to these
advancements. And still more is to be done.
