2. URBAN CONTEXT Santa Lucia is located in Miranda State, Paz Castillo Municipality, Venezuela. It was founded on February 10, 1621
3. DIAGNOSIS If we want to make an intervention in any area we have to make a diagnosis so we can know all the characteristics and contidions of this area. In the case of Santa Lucía, we made a full diagnosis of this area considering all the aspects that can make an important influence on the urban dynamic. Also in the diagnosis we have to consider the natural characteristics of the area because is a relevant aspect for the urban sites and for the urban growth
6. URBAN DESIGN PROPOSAL The general proposal is based on a series of spots that represent the land uses in each zone dominated by residential use in the proposal. Also in the proposal is represented how is going to be the new road system
7. SPECIFIC PROPOSAL FOR THE SOUTH The objective of this proposal is to create a north-south urban character finishing in Santa Lucía University, complemented by a residential area, creating a road system which allows for new developments with existing areas of Santa Lucía
8. Client’s needs In this case the client is the inhabitants of Santa Lucía. Their needs are basically to improve their life quality by making an interventions thinking about the funtionality of the space and also creating new public spaces for the enjoyment of the citizens.
9. MATERIALS IN THE DESIGN The regular buildings of the university are going to made of brick like Cornell University The important buildings like The Library and The Rectorate are going to made of stone
10. STRUCTURE The structure of the regular buildings are going to be like post and lintel and the structure of the important buildings are going to be like an arch to emphasize their importance.
