 stryd na vryheid... Die daaglikse ervaringe
word vir die toeskouer vertoon: die skaamte,
     die aanvalle op hul menslikheid, die
mislukkings, die trauma, die oorwinning, die
blydskap. Mense word gedwing om te besef dat
hulle nie totaal impotente speelgoed van die
  mense in magsposisies is nie“ - Desmond

Basil Dube skryf: “Kuns kan nie bestaan
sonder die samelewing nie. Daar kan geen
lyn wees wat die kunstenaar van sy
gemeenskap skei nie. Die progressiewe
effek van kuns lei tot kulturele groei. Die
kunstenaar in Suid-Afrika moet maniere
soek om sy gemeenskap te verbeter. Die
swart kunstenaar behoort enige
struikelblokke in sy pad te oorkom. Hy
behoort geklemde-vuis protes te vermy en
‘n waardevolle bydrae te maak.

Nhlengethwa is ‘n televisie tegnikus wat saans aan sy kuns
werk.

1978 ‘n kunsdiploma by Rorkes Drift Kunssentrum in
voltooi.
Hy het die Standard Bank Jong Kunstenaars Toekenning in
1994 verwerf.
Sy energieke uitbeeldings van swart stedelike lewe word d
Maak gebruik van foto-montage
Hy word grootliks deur Jazz beïnvloed en speel dit in die
agtergrond terwyl hy sy werke skep.
