Mysteries of japanese_behaviors
1. Mysteries of Japanese Behaviors
They say Japanese are extremely polite people. Thanks, I am a
Japanese. Nevertheless, I don't know why they thank so. Simply
because we're acting naturally, with out any intention. Our conduct
is embedded within our culture. or our culture is embedded in our
lifestyle. Beside becoming polite, there are many mysterious Japanese
behaviors out of your aspect. I would like to explain why they do so.
Why Japanese apologize so often?
Japanese often start their ceremony greeting with apology. Exhibiting
of modesty is regarded as a sign of virtue, and thus opening
conversation with apology words put together an amicable atmosphere
and promote interaction. Stating "sumimasen" or "mooshiwake arimasen"
are literally translated as "I'm sorry". However, it's not admitting
their fault. It is only a process of obtaining towards the primary
dialogue topic.
Why Japanese say "yes" all of the time?
When you have learnt Japanese prior to, you learnt Japanese "hai"
indicates sure. However, Japanese "Hai"is not exactly "Yes" all of
the time. In Japanese, "hai" is also used as a sign that the listener
is paying focus towards the speaker. So in this instance, "hai"
is just a same implication as nodding, this kind of as"Ah-ha, or
I see". Nevertheless, Japanese often use Sure for the translation
of "Hai". English "yes" is much more unique meaning instead of "hai"
in Japanese.
Do Japanese comprehend my talk?
Japanese have a tendency to become peaceful while someone's speaking.
Japanese don't like interrupting someone's speak in a mid way or they
feel guilty if they achieve this. Similarly, they also don't like
to be disturbed whilst they're speaking. They believe interrupting
someone's speech isn't displaying respect towards the individual.
Even they have a question, they have a tendency to wait till the
speaker finishes their speech. Japanese are elevated so by teachers
and parents. So if you are a westerner, and found that your Japanese
fellows are peaceful in a meeting, there is a higher opportunity that
they are keeping their horses. (or simply don't have any opinion...)
In Cross cultural communication, we requirements persistence and
modify our own cultural values from each of our sides.
