District Governor's visit to MIDTOWN
For the past month Midtown secretariat
was a hub of activity with papers, photos,
files and club matters. The day arrived for
the homework to be scrutinized. President
Ragavendra along with fellow Rotarian's
was ready at 7.45am to greet the evaluator
who is none other than our beloved DG
Rtn. Hunasagatta Lingamariyappa Ravi.
He was ready waiting for us with AG
Rnt.Aa Cha. Rotarians along with DG &
AG proceeded to SGDM Trust at
Chamundivanam for breakfast and execution of matching grant # 75571. After breakfast, DG officially
handed over the Hi-Tech Ambulance to the exofficio trustee the present DC of Mysore Mr.Vastrad.
RMA was the next destination on the day's agenda and we arrived there at 10am to a wonderful
welcome by the students with dance and song performed by them. The DG inspected the school and
was very impressed by the MARS Project. He inaugurated the sophisticated science lab and
expressed his happiness about RMA and its activities. The next stop was at Sufi Memorial School
for special children. DG was dumbstruck about the special children's creativity in making dolls,
baskets and other things. He handed over gifts to the special children and also purchased
handmade articles made by the children. He also met the six year old child Kauser who had
undergone heart surgery under matching grant # 74139 at the school. Rs 20,000 was
donated to the school from the club as community service project. Before lunch RCL was
the next pit stop. DG spent time in the secretariat inspecting all the work done by the
president, secretary and directors. MIDTOWN passed the inspection with colours and
the DG was pleased with the work. Next DG conducted the club assembly by pulling
out a long book full of notes, called all the directors, associated people and fired
questions, everybody came out with crisp answers. Club assembly came to an
end with the screening of Mast clippings. Lunch followed the club assembly at
2.30pm.
'Pai Vista' was the venue for the day's evening. President, Secretary,
DG, AG and President elect were on the dais. Meeting started with a

My Dear Rotarians,
Hearty Congratulations to all of you for the successful day on the occasion of our District Governor's
official visit. I immensely thank Rtn. Bhanuchandran for making the whole day memorable. I
congratulate & immensely thank all the Board Members for the execution and presentation of excellent
projects on that day. It is my pleasure to thank members of RMA School Management Committee,
members of SGDM Trust and members of Sufi Trust for the excellent co-operation extended on that day.
It's my privilege to thank Rtn. Narendra Babu for providing space above his building to erect the 4-WAY
Test Hoarding.
And also I thank the entire Donor's including two major donors Rtn.PP.Ramakrishna.P.K. & Rtn. Narendra Babu for their
contribution towards TRF.

speechless after seeing the special memento and the
MIDTOWN families wanted to know whether it was 'YES' or
'NO' from him for the memento. It was a 'YES' from him.

Past Ri President Glenn Estess Sr. Dies
Glenn E. Estess Sr., who served as 2004-05 RI
president during Rotary's centennial year, died on 7
February. He was 84.
In 1993, Estess retired as chief executive officer of
Glenn Estess Associates Inc., a sales and marketing

Estess, who joined Rotary in 1960, was a member of
the Rotary Club of Shades Valley, Alabama, USA. In
addition to his term as RI president, he served in

PolioPlus national coordinator, RI Audit and Operations
Review Committee chair, International Assembly group
discussion leader, and district governor.
He was a recipient of the RI Service Above Self Award
Rtn. Mohd. Sulaiman Sait & Hanifa and The Rotary Foundation's Citation for Meritorious
21-2-2012 Cell : 9845120208 Service and Distinguished Service Award. He was a
Foundation Major Donor, a Paul Harris Fellow, and
Matching Grant # 75571 benefactor.
Through the RI theme Celebrate Rotary , Estess
encouraged clubs to implement a Rotary centennial
community project, form twin club relationships, and
support the Every Rotarian, Every Year effort, which aims
to achieve an annual US$100 per capita contribution level
for the Foundation's Annual Fund.
