FAQ’s

• Is a fixed deposit acceptable?
 Yes, provided it has more than AED 30,000 (+ Financial responsibility letter)

• Is a current account acceptable?
 Yes, provided it has more than AED 30,000 (+ Financial responsibility letter)

• Is a savings account acceptable?
 Yes, provided it has more than AED 30,000 (+ Financial responsibility letter)

• Is a overdraft account acceptable?
 Yes, provided it has more than AED 30,000 (+ Financial responsibility letter)
subject to approval depending on the amount of overdraft

• If a loan has been taken to pay the education, do you require the Loan disbursement letter or the Loan
Approval letter?
 The GSO does not require any of those letters. The Student hub of DIAC would only require the bank
statement that shows sufficient funds (AED 30,000) with a financial responsibility letter, or a sponsor
letter from the employer, or from the university (i.e. if the university provides a student with a study loan,
then the University provides a bank statement to the student hub). The authorities (GSO, Immigration)
do not interfere with student loans (tuition or others) and do not restrict them as long as the student hub
approves the visa application
