2. 1. Set up the tarp against the side of the
garage with two paper targets made with
poster board and red tempera paint
2. Set out materials with
spaghetti and mashed
potatoes on separate
plates and the
applesauce in its jar

3. 3. Stand approximately eight feet away from
the tarp, positioned in front of a target
4. Aim for the target
5. Throw with an overhand toss

4. 6. Measure the span of the splatter at the
widest point with a ruler that measures in
inches
7. Record the results in a table and repeat
with each of the foods three times
