This document provides photos and descriptions from a hiking trip through the Mojave Desert. THIS MORNING DOVE GREETED
US ON THE FIRST DAY OF
HIKING. WE STARTED EARLY AND
HIKED UNTIL ABOUT 3:30-4:00PM.
TO THE RIGHT IS A LIZARD
BASKING THE SUN.

YUCCA, AND A MEMBER OF THE
AGAVE FAMILY. IT WAS GIVEN
ITS NAME BY A BUNCH OF
MORMON SETTLERS THAT
THOUGHT THE LIMBS OF THE TREE
WAS REACHING OUT FOR GOD
AND SHOWING THE WAY WEST.
NATIVES CALL THE PLANT
HUMWICHAWA.

DRY WASHES.
