Bart's easy way to lose weight
Introduction
In this guide I show you my (easy) method to lose weight. It is NOT about:
– magical diets
– taking pills
– surgeries
– starvation
The concept is very simple. You need to burn more calories that you eat. If you ever
watched documentary movies involved World War II, you remember skinny people inside
concetration camps – there was no single fat man. Why? They all ate not much and very
basic food while working hard (too hard). Very sad example but from real life.
My method
My method involves two steps:
Step one: The changes of the meals – this part includes two things: limitations and replacements
Limitations
I'm the person who likes to eat good and tasty things. So I coudn't just use some diet.
What I did is just limit the food I usually eat. Say I like dumplings (usually eat 10 of them
for dinner). So I limited it to 7. I also like pizza very much. I limited it to 1 small pizza per
month. I like sweets. This is the main problem but it can be done. I live alone and If I don't
buy something sweet for me I just don't have it and don't eat it. Simple :).
Replacements
I replaced some products with others, which gave me the same pleasure. I like vanilla
cream cheese a lot, however it's very sweet and get you fat. I replaced it with natural
yogurt. I replaced one sandwich at work with an apple. I replaced salami sausage with the
ham. Replaced cola with good mineral water. The thing is to find low calories
replacements (commonly available and cheap) for the high calories things we eat.

2. Step two: The sport activities
Yeah , you say it was meant to be an easy. I promise it will be. The truth is, the more you
move the more you burn. All you need to do is to find some activity that you enjoy. Try
different sports like jogging, walking, biking and see which one you like. I tried some and I
know that biking is my favourite. I do ride bike a lot and that's not because I got it
scheduled or because I have pangs of conscience when sitting at home. I do it because I
like it. I tried gym – that's boring, I tried running – boring for me.
When choosing sport discipline don't start with buying clothes and equipment. That't the
wrong way!!!. Borrow the needed equipment and try the sport first. If you feel you like you,
you can invest in it.
Try to find something you can do all year long not only in winter. I do biking from early
spring to late autumn. In winter I'm burning calories having fun with MS Xbox 360 console
and Kinect – I like playing games.
If you like playing computer games that's might be an alternative for you. Believe me some
games are very very chalenging.
You say “What if I don't like any kind of sport”. Don't worry. It's also the replacement
strategy. Sit and think how much movement you could add to your daily life. I'm saying of
things like:
– use stairs instead of the lift
– go on foot instead of driving by car (short distances)
– at work put the kettle away so you must take some steps to make a tea
– do simple exercises watching movie at home
