NEW YORK. With the backdrop of Central Park and a stunning skyline, the best
Italian jazz musicians have opened Monday evening, the first edition of Italian
Jazz Days, which will end next Saturday.
The opening night has put together a Hammond organ wizard Joey
DeFrancesco, with one of the best Italian saxophonist Rosario Giuliani, with the
little drummer Nicola Angelucci on guitar and the "master" Ferrara Lucio on
Friday will present "It's all right with me ", a CD inspired by his recent stay in New
York.
Public of the great opportunities Monday at Dizzy Club Coca-Cola from whose
windows overlooking Central Park and the square dedicated to Christopher
Columbus.
To do the honors, Antonio Ciacca, pianist and director of programming of Jazz
@ Lincoln Center. On stage, in his capacity as patron also Ornella Fado, thanks
to his character in TV show "toast", dedicated to Italian cuisine. This evening will
be performing a "special session" the pianist Greg Burk, Joseph Lepore (bass),
Luca Santaniello (Drums) and the saxophonist Ada Rovatti.
Two evenings will be held later at the Italian Institute of Culture: Thursday the
unusual combination of jazz and ethnic music of Sardinia, with an ensemble of
twelve persons; Friday Antonio Ciacca give you a taste of his latest work, "Lagos
Blues" in collaboration with Steve Grossman.
