8. History
 After the Mexican Independence day on
September 16, 1822, Sinaloa was joined as
Occidente State.
 Later became its own state in 1830.
 Sinaloa is divided into 18 municipalities
With Culiacan as its capital.

Includesthe islands of Palmito
Verde, Palmito de La Virgen,
Altamura, Santa Maria, Saliaca,
Macapule, and San Ignacio.

 Subtropical (found on the plains) to cold
(nearby mountains)

and sea species like tortoise, sea bass,
grouper, meager, snapper, and shrimp.
 The word Sinaloa originated from cahita
Indians means rounded pitaya a common
local fruit.
