2. An Introduction
Marathon Marketing is a professional services firm that
provides a variety of strategic planning, program
execution & licensing development expertise for our
clients’ marketing efforts. Through our Virtual
Marketing Management (VMM) program, we act as a
virtual marketing or licensing director for many
organizations, developing & managing marketing
programs that fit each client’s unique set of goals &
budgets. Just as often, we work as an extension of
clients’ current marketing departments to offer
specific skills over a shorter period of time.

3. Our Founding Principal:
Laurie Berkin
After a two-decade career in law & marketing with some of the
world’s leading public companies, Laurie Berkin founded Marathon
Marketing in 2004. Marathon Marketing has allowed Laurie to bring her
unique blend of legal, marketing and business experiences to other
companies.
Prior to establishing Marathon Marketing, Laurie developed a career as
both an attorney and marketing professional working in a variety of
capacities including In-house Counsel, Product Manager and Director of
Licensing & Marketing.
Laurie has managed multiple relationships with licensors from the
fields of entertainment, education, sports, toys and corporate brands.
She has worked with some of the most reputable licensors in the U.S.,
including Disney, Warner Bros., Dreamworks, Nickelodeon, Nautica,
NASCAR, NFL, Sesame Street and Mattel.
Laurie received a B.B.A in Finance and Real Estate from The University
of Texas at Austin and a J.D. degree from Emory University School of
Law.

Laurie volunteers her time with her Rhodesian Ridgeback, Roxy at
Happy Tails Pet Therapy, where she currently serves as a Board
Member. She’s also been a Board Member of The Metro Atlanta
Furniture Bank and the Atlanta Jewish Federation’s Business &
Professional division.
Laurie is also a participant in The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's
Team In Training® program, the world's largest endurance sports
training program as a Team in Training Member and Coaching Mentor.
To date, Laurie has completed three marathons and seven half-
marathons while raising more than $15,000 for leukemia, lymphoma
and myeloma research and patient services.
She is a member of the Georgia Bar Association, the LIMA (Licensing
Industry Manufacturers Association), the American Marketing
Association, and the National Association of Women Business Owners.
In January 2007, Laurie was awarded a “Woman of Distinction” honor
by the Atlanta-based Chic-fil-A Peachbowl/Russell Athletic
Committee.
