Éramos dos jóvenes formados en el Centro Cultural de Pueblo Nuevo de Sabadell. Nos vinimos a vivir a Polinyà después de haber sido detenidos por la policía y encarcelados, acusados simplemente de pertenecer a las juventudes comunistas del PSUC. Jóvenes llenos de ilusión y fuerza para conseguir las libertades democráticas y el socialismo en Catalunya y en España. No vinimos a Polinyà a aposentarnos y esperar una nueva vida. Vinimos por la vivienda y a seguir trabajando por las ideas que de bien jovencitos habíamos asumido. No fue fácil. Polinyà era un pueblo muy pequeño y no había ningún tipo de movimiento político, social ni sindical, tan sólo existía un grupo excursionistas. La suerte nuestra fue la de conocer a unos compañeros de Pueblo Nuevo que se habían venido bastante antes y nos apoyamos en ellos. Poco más tarde también se vinieron otros jóvenes de la Juventud comunista del Centro Cultural y juntos decidimos ayudar a formar la AVV y el PSUC. Fuimos a visitar al alcalde, el señor Idelfonso Solá, propietario del restaurante Can Coll. Nos manifestaba que era alcalde por imposición de Martín villa. Luego se demostró que eso de tener poder le gustaba. Al llegar nos encontramos aún pueblo lleno de problemas y con escasos servicios públicos. Los pozos de agua que nos proveía al pueblo y a la industria fueron contaminados por los purines de la planta de basuras (zona de Serra Maurina) que fue abandonada y dejada bastante descontrolada. El pueblo crecía pero los servicios se iban quedando estancados: El servicio médico se daba en un piso pequeño en la plaza del Vallés. Las clases a los alumnos se impartían en los barracones donde actualmente se encuentra el Casal de Joves. Problemas de farmacia. Un transporte de pasajeros con horarios insuficientes y autobuses muy antiguos, etc. etc. Un ejemplo de mala gobernanza fue que se construyeron los llamados popularmente “pisos sin entrada”. Las calles de la zona Romero quedaron destrozadas. La empresa constructora se negó a pavimentarlas y el ayuntamiento en vez de obligar a la empresa a repararlas, se dedicó a imponer contribuciones especiales a los vecinos. La gente que regía el ayuntamiento eran todos nativos de la zona y mantenían escasa actividad. La fiesta mayor consistía en poner un entoldado de la época, dónde un poco, sí que se distinguían las clases, aunque Polinyà no haya sido un pueblo de alta burguesía. Así llegamos a las primeras elecciones municipales democráticas del año 1979.
