This document defines Web 2.0 and discusses how instructors can use various Web 2.0 applications for teaching, including wikis, document sharing, blogs, microblogs, social bookmarking, multimedia sharing, time management tools, and conferencing tools. Examples are provided for how each application could be used, such as having students collaboratively edit a glossary using a wiki or share multimedia resources using social bookmarking tools. The document concludes by recommending that instructors consider how tools support learning goals, experiment with short assignments, and evaluate the effectiveness of Web 2.0 integration.
