Efficient SLO Development Across Courses:  The Example of History Lisa M Lane

Step 1: Develop objectives in terms of what students should be able to do in the discipline’s courses. SLO #1 SLO #2 SLO #3 SLO #4 apply to all  History courses different for each GE area
Step 2: Set a standard for success. 70% or more correct for that SLO = good less than 70%  =  may need evalution of  SLO or  teaching method/material
Step 3: Faculty choice of method + standardized reporting department sample assessment individual faculty  assessment assignment treated as assessment
Step 4: Make everything easy to find Schedule SLOs Sample tests Reporting forms
