These slides outline the demos of the BlackBerry Z10 I showed at the Silicon Valley Telecom Council Handsets and Gadgets Review, March 12, 2013. Since you can't actually see the demos from the slides, you need to read the transcript notes for each slide to get the main points of each demo.

The User Experience (UX) on the new BlackBerry Z10 is designed around making you more productive, especially while you’re on the move. One of the first things you’ll notice is that there’s no “Home” button on device. Most interaction with the device is through gestures. The area outside the edges of the screen is called the bezel and some of your gestures actually start there. [I show sliding up from the bottom go minimize the current app, and sliding down from the top to either bring down the system’s menu or an app’s menu depending on context]One thing you’ll appreciate over time is the ease at which the device can be used with just one hand. All our UI decisions about menus, URL boxes in the browser, even our keypad word prediction, need to pass our one-handed rule: Can you do that operation easily with one hand? Typing on the virtual keyboard on the Z10 is a great example…
[I bring up the Remember app and start a new entry, and demo the keyboard’s text prediction]On Android and iOS devices, text prediction is offered and suggestions are located at the top of the keypad. This is very distracting because it takes your eyes and fingers away from the keys it’s going to when typing. On the Z10, your suggestions are right there on the next letter –where you’re brain and hands are typing anyway. This really makes typing with one hand (especially long words) fast and easy. It also can predict words in multiple languages![show time warp camera demo live] Create moments in time that never existed by removing one person’s blink by advancing forward or backwards in time for just that one person.[show video player live] Fast, beautiful, HDMI out. Even has edit capability built in.
[Demo the BlackBerry Hub]There’s no email app icon to hit. In fact, all your messaging and communications are always on and there’s no need to find an icon and launch the corresponding application. This includes Phone calls/history, BBM, SMS/text, work email, personal email accounts, twitter messages, LinkedIn messages, Facebook messages, etc. From any other app you’re running, you can quickly glance into your hub without leaving the application. [I launch the video player and while watching the movie, peek at the hub to see if there’s any new correspondence while my movie continues to play]
Developers love us. - More apps at launch available in our store than for any other new mobile platform in history - 34,000 apps in 2 weekends ported through our portathons. Amazing! This demonstrates: 1) how easy it is to develop for and port to BlackBerry, and 2) developers have faith in BlackBerry’s platform (they’ve had our devices for many months and love them)
[Demo BlackBerry Messenger Video conferencing and make sure to show screen sharing feature]Beautiful picture, clear sound. Sharing the screen is a great way to show someone a picture you’ve just taken, a document, etc. This is a very powerful feature, especially for enterprise users.
BlackBerry Balance keeps sensitive work files, data, and applications separate from your personal stuff. It’s extremely easy to switch back and forth from your Personal partition to your Work partition (single downward swipe gesture in the apps panel)[In the Work Partition…] All the apps here have been pushed to my device by my employer and are managed completely by them. They can remove them, change my permissions of use, etc. They can even wipe the whole partition if my device gets stolen, lost, or I leave the company. The app store app in this partition allows me the option of downloading additional apps that my employer has made available to me. The IT backend that manages this partition and my interaction with it is BlackBerry Enterprise Service 10. This is an upgrade of your standard BES server. What’s perhaps the most important thing to note here, is that BES 10 can also manage iOS and Android devices in your enterprise. So, IT managers get the ability to manage their older BlackBerrys, their newer ones, plus Android and iOS devices as well –all from a company they’re familiar with and have entrusted their sensitive corporate data with for many years, BlackBerry.
Most compliant HTML5 browser on the market period. That includes desktop browsers (chrome, firefox, safari, etc.)It’s extremely fast, and the first mobile browser to support critical web technologies like WebSockets and WebGL. See HTML5test.com to compare BlackBerry 10 against other browsers. The BlackBerry 10 browser was also the first vendor browser to pass Facebook’s Ringmark Ring #1. This is a test of APIs that Facebook thinks are critical for web apps.
