Meaningful Use provides $20 billion to support adoption of electronic health records with the goals of improving health care quality, safety and efficiency through better care coordination and information sharing while strengthening privacy protections. It pursues these aims through a staged approach encouraging use of certified electronic records to capture complete health data, better diagnose issues, and engage patients for safer, lower cost care.
