2. WHERE DO WE COME FROM?
In Huelva, a little city in Spain, my great grandfather was
born, his name was Lucas Edicto López. He was the third of
five brothers and the most adventured of them too.
3. LUCAS’ DREAM WAS
KNOWING NEW

up money and

5. WHEN HE ARRIVED HERE, ALL BY
HIMSELF, HE FOUND A JOB AS
BUTCHER IN BUENOS AIRES.
6. But he wasn’t in Buenos Aires for so long. He went to
Entre Rios, and there he started to work having his own
butcher’s.
7. There he met a woman called Modesta Santillán, they get
married and a few years later they had eight
children, Lucas, Alberto, Tulia, Concepción, Elsa, Alba, Jos
é and Ricardo, who lately became my grandfather.
They were raised there and some of them went to another
cities of Entre Rios to live, but Ricardo stayed there with his
family learning about being a butcher.

9. In Nogoyá, Ricardo met Elsa Gómez, a friend’s
sister. They fell in love in a party at the club.
After three weeks dating they decided to get
married.
10. A year later, the first son came, Lucas Ceferino López.
11. Then, Ricardo came, and later Mirtha and Cristián did.
They all were born in Entre Rios. After a few years they
decided to move, and they came to Buenos Aires to live.
They chose a quiet city far from downtown.

13. All their children grew up and got married but
Mirtha. She stayed at home with her parents and in
1988 at the age of 19 gave birth to a girl called
Elizabeth.
