Breve Resumo- A Inaudita Guerra da Avenida
Gago Coutinho
A Inaudita Guerra da Avenida Gago Coutinho é um conto narrativo de Mário de Carvalho, publicado em 1983.
Trata-se de uma obra que vai amalgar duas datas, as de 4 de Junho de 1148 e as de 29 de Setembro de 1984.
No desenrolar da ação vai fazendo fortes críticas ao exército português e às forças paramilitares da década de
80.
Começa com uma situação em que se vai buscar a musa da história Clio, pois
adormece e deixa dois fios de tapeçaria milenária da história enlearem-se.
Amalgamando-se as datas de 4 de Junho de 1148 e de 29 de Setembro de 1984.
De seguida, já no desenrolar da ação Ibn-el-Muftar, surpreso com a mudança de
época, e também com a transformação da “paisagem”, pensa tratar-se de um
passe de magia. O polícia Manuel Reis Tobias, que no momento da chegada
repentina do exército de Ibn-el-Muftar estava de seviço escondido atrás de um
prédio ao lado de uns semáforos, comunica uma mensagem ao posto de
comando dizendo que havia uma manifestação não autorizada na Avenida Gago
Coutinho e parte do Areeiro. Poucos minutos mais tarde, a Polícia de
Intervenção, ao tentar “limpar a avenida”, é rapidamente desmobilizada ao ver que a cavalaria moura se
preparara para investir contra eles. No entanto, o exército português chega, e o capitão Aurélio Soares
consegue alcançar Ibn-el-Muftar. Quando se cumprimentavam os dois em árabe, o Ibn-el-Muftar e o seu
exército desaparcerem deixando o Capitão Soares e toda a escola militar confusa com aquele fenómeno. A
causa desse súbito desaparecimento foi o facto da deusa Clio ter despertado do seu sonho, fazendo
desaparecer os mouros e fazendo esquecer todas as pessoas que testemunharam aquele fenómeno. Visto
que ninguém sabia o que se passara, os oficiais responsáveis pelas forças policiais e militares portuguesas
que intervieram na ação, tiveram que explicar em tribunal marcial o porquê de se encontrarem na avenida
Gago Coutinho sem aparentemente nada ter sucedido. Já para o exército de Ibn-el-Muftar não foi grave
pois eles aproveitaram o caminho de regresso para devastar os campos de Santarém.
