Today, we are closer to our membership
being split 50-50 across genders.
LinkedIn membership has expanded from largely
tech- and finance-based industries to many other
major sectors including health care, construction
and education management.
Mobile

expanded dramatically, with Brazil moving into
the top five and India to the top two.
Location
While 300 million members is an exciting achievement, we
have a long way to go to realize our vision of creating economic
opportunity for every one of the 3.3 billion people in the global

Looking Ahead
Just over five years ago,
LinkedIn had just
launched its first mobile
app and mobile
accounted for a small
percentage of traffic.
In 2014, we will hit our mobile moment,
with mobile accounting for more than 50
percent of all global traffic. LinkedIn
currently has five apps: LinkedIn
(for phone and iPad), Contacts, Pulse,
Recruiter Mobile and SlideShare.

MILLION MEMBERS
We now have 300 million LinkedIn members, more than half of whom live
outside of the U.S.That's enough to make LinkedIn the fourth largest country
in the world. In celebration, we took a look back to see how much our
membership has grown and diversified over the past five years. It's a helpful
reminder of not only where we've been, but also where we're headed as we
work to create economic opportunity for every professional in the world.
