In 2009, ¼ of the world population is using internet. The web user population is growing very fast (+18% YOY). <br />Brazil, Russia, India, China (BRIC), only, represent 1/3 of total world users. Those countries are emerging economically speaking (rising purchasing power) with a rising number of people having access at online stores. As a consequence, the potential customers are growing tremendously. We can also point out that the distribution of the online population reflects more and more the distribution of the global population (Table 1)<br />…Asia. The percentage of leisure time spent online, in the world, is on average 30 %. Nevertheless, this figure is very high in China (44%), Korea (40%) and Japan (38%). (T.2)<br />…Europe. There are opportunities for development in some markets according to the analysis of some web user behaviors (T.3). In Russia, the Internet users are over 31 millions. In Turkey, the average time spent online per visitor per month is 32 hours. On average, a Finn browses 2.777 pages per month which is higher than in USA (2.437), Germany (2.601) and in the UK (2.482), for instance.<br />The weekly use of email is unequal across the continent. For example, 98% of Belgium users open his/her email box at least once a week while in Germany, the percentage is “only” 84%. (T. 4).
