M keynoteSpeakerbios keynoteSpeakerbios M Marc Prensky is an internationally acclaimed speaker, Gary Stager - For 26 years, Gary Stager, an internationally writer, educator, consultant, and game designer in the recognized educator, speaker and consultant, has helped critical areas of education and learning. He is the author of learners of all ages on six continents embrace the power Digital Game-Based Learning (McGraw-Hill, 2001), and of computers as intellectual laboratories and vehicles for Don’t Bother Me Mom – I’m Learning (Paragon House, self-expression. He led professional development in the 2006). Marc is the founder and CEO of Games2train, world's first laptop schools (1990), has designed online whose clients include IBM, Bank of America, Pfizer, the graduate school programs since the mid-90s, is a U.S. Department of Defense and the LA and Florida Virtual Schools. He is the creator of the sites www.gamesparentsteachers.com and collaborator in the MIT Media Lab's Future of Learning Group and a www.socialimpactgames.com member of the One Laptop Per Child Foundation's Learning Team. Mr. Stager's doctoral research involved the creation a high-tech alternative learning environment for incarcerated at-risk teens. Recent work includes teaching and mentoring some of Australia's "most troubled" David Jakes - The Global One Room Schoolhouse: public schools. Gary is Senior Editor of District Administration Magazine, Creating Learning Communities in the Digital Age Editor of The Pulse: Education’s Place for Debate, Adjunct Professor at Pepperdine University and an Associate of the Thornburg Center for David Jakes has spent twenty four years in education as a Professional Development. Dr. Stager is also the Executive Director of teacher, staff developer, and technology coordinator. The Constructivist Consortium. In 1999, Converge Magazine named From his first Macintosh Classic to his current tablet PC, Gary a "shaper of our future and inventor of our destiny." Reynolds designed to improve the technology preparation of new teachers.
